Welcome to the ‘Isle of Wight Facts and Figures’ pages
The Business Intelligence Team maintain and populate a wide range of information and statistics about the Isle of Wight for use by various groups, including the Council itself to support and improve decision making and strategic planning processes. Other users include other local organisations, businesses and the local community.
We are jointly responsible (alongside Public Health) for producing the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) – a comprehensive look at the health and wellbeing of Island residents, which can be viewed
here.
Other information available from the site includes:
- Key Facts and Figures about the Isle of Wight, including current population estimates and average house price,
- Information factsheets & figuresheets covering areas such as education, demographics and deprivation,
- 2011 Census information will be made available as soon after release as possible,
- Needs Assessment including an explanation and links to existing assessments,
- Health Profiles including profiles, maps and interactive tools,
- Ward area data including population estimates and Mosaic data,
- Maps showing relative deprivation on the Island and ward / cluster boundaries,
- Useful sources offering links to various sources of information and statistics,
- Data archive offering access to data and information from past years.

The information and statistics contained within the site are continually being developed and updated in-line with user feedback and new data releases.
