COMMUNITY PLANS
A number of communities have asked the council to adopt their community plans as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs).
To become adopted as an SPD, these community plans are required to go through further public consultation and be in general conformity with the Core Strategy, as an SPD forms part of the overall Island Plan.
Adoption of Chale Village Design Statement, Nettlestone and Seaview Parish Plan and Yarmouth and Thorley Community Plan as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)
At the request of the local communities of Chale, Nettlestone and Seaview and Yarmouth and Thorley, the Isle of Wight Council has adopted the content of the community documents as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) within the Island Plan Local Development Framework.
The following documents were adopted by the Isle of Wight Council on 14 January 2013:
The Chale Village Design Statement sets out design considerations for development proposals. Both the Nettlestone and Seaview Parish Plan and the Yarmouth and Thorley Community Plan set out issues that are important to their communities and how they would like their community to be in the future.
To become an SPD, these community plans were required to go through further public consultation by the Isle of Wight Council and be in general conformity with the Core Strategy, as an SPD forms part of the overall Island Plan.
All three documents were prepared by Parish and Town Councils and cover their administrative areas and were supported by the following documents:
