Progress for ProvidersProgress for Providers is a simple self assessment tool that has been developed by providers and commissioners to help providers think about their progress in responding to the personalisation agenda. The tool particularly focuses on delivering personalised, individually costed services and individual service funds.
Progress for Providers has been developed for providers supporting anyone who uses adult social care. This includes organisations that provide advice and guidance or equipment services. It was developed by providers of varying sizes with a user led organisation.

Service Development – Grant Making Scheme
The Isle of Wight Council is committed to delivering more of its local services through third sector groups and organisations. This has resulted in introducing the Pilot Grant Making Scheme.
The new arrangements change existing funding arrangements so that we can open doors to new ideas and innovation in public services that often originate in the third sector.
The aim is to create a rolling grant funding process centred on a number of public sector commissioning prospectuses. They invite bids from the third sector to deliver sustainable commissioning outcomes.
Innovation, change and creativity are particularly welcomed if it will deliver public commissioning outcomes. The process also gives commissioners new opportunities to direct mainstream public funding safely into grant funded services.

Provider Workshop
A provider workshop was held on 7 September 2009. The aim of the day was to build on the provider event held earlier in the year and discuss an Island-wide approach to personalising care services and support for older and disabled people. It provided updates on issues, enabled providers to explore how they might need to change and how the Transforming Adult Social Care team could help providers through this change.

The next provider workshop is going to be held towards the beginning of 2010.
