Drug Action Team

The Council’s Drug Action team (DAT) is responsible for the delivery of the treatment element of the Council’s Drug Strategy. This strategy seeks to:

reduce drug related violence and crime
reduce and prevent usage of illegal drugs and alcohol and minimise their harm
treat and rehabilitate users
reduce related offending and crime

IDAS – Island Drug and Alcohol Service
IDAS aim to reduce the harm caused by substance misuse, offering needle exchange, substitute prescribing, care co-ordination, psycho-social interventions and acupuncture.

This website contains information about the effects of alcohol and health facts. It also provides links to several other useful organisations which are able to provide advice and guidance about the safe use of alcohol.
