Planning Services has responsibility for the following areas within the Isle of Wight Council:

AONB Unit
The staff of the Isle of Wight AONB Partnership are hosted by the Isle of Wight Council within Planning Policy. The unit works to conserve and enhance the land area of the Island designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as part of the national family of protected landscapes.

Building Control
Information about Building Regulations and general construction advice;

Conservation and Design
Protecting and enhancing the character and appearance of Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas and design issues in respect of the Island’s built environment;

Customer Information
Frontline support for all of Planning Services including information about general opening hours.

Development Control
Details of current planning applications, the process involved in making an application, and general information including Appeals and Enforcement matters;

For policy documents including the Island Plan.
