BOUNDARY DISPUTES

If you think your boundary is wrong or you wish to find out who is responsible for the upkeep of a fence, wall or hedge the first thing to check is your deeds. You may already have a copy of these. If you do not have a copy of your deeds they will probably be with your mortgage provider from whom you can obtain a copy. If the deeds do not indicate who is responsible for the upkeep of a fence or wall, one of the following websites may help, otherwise you will need to consult a Solicitor.

Should the deeds not give the information you require regarding the position of a boundary, the Land Registry may be able to help in cases of large inaccuracies to boundary lines. If this does not resolve the problem, you will need to engage the services of a Chartered Land Surveyor.
