WELLOW WIND FARM APPEAL

On 17 May 2011, RPS Planning (on behalf of Infinergy) submitted an application for:

“Five wind turbines (100m to the tip of a rotor blade in a vertical position) provision of crane hardstandings control buildings substation underground cabling temporary construction compound new access tracks off Broad Lane and Thorley Street (B3401) to accommodate construction traffic and a permanent 65m high anemometer mast (readvertised application additional information received).”

This application (Isle of Wight Council reference P/00706/11 – TCP/27774/A) was formally validated and registered by the Isle of Wight Council on 30 June 2011.

On 23 July 2012, the Isle of Wight council issued a refusal of planning permission for the development. All documentation relating to the refused scheme, including the Environmental Statement, can be found here.

Burgess Salmon LLP submitted an appeal against this refusal to both the Isle of Wight Council and The Planning Inspectorate on 18 January 2013. The PINS appeal reference number APP/P2114/A/13/2191266.

This appeal is following the Inquiry procedure. A guide to taking part in this procedure is available here.

The Planning Inspectorate has confirmed that they are content for the appeal to be through the Inquiry process.
