The Island remains in the clutches of winter having just experienced below zero temperatures which brought with them potentially the biggest single fall since 1962-63, when some areas of the South were blighted by snow and ice for more than three months.

However now that the schools have all re-opened, temperatures are starting to rise (hopefully!) and things are slowly beginning to return to normal, we thought we would take this opportunity to reflect upon the Island's snowy scenes by displaying a selection of your images in the above gallery.

Please send us your photographs* of Island towns and villages by emailing them to [email protected]

Remember to include your name and details of where each photo was taken for us to include in the caption.

A pick of the best will be uploaded and added to the gallery throughout the course of the coming weeks.

*Please be aware that owing to child protection regulations we are unfortunately unable to publish any photographs of children.
