The conservation area was designated on 15 December 1969 and was re-evaluated and amended on 07 December 1999, and again on 27 April 2011.

Conservation Area Character Appraisal

The Isle of Wight Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for the Ryde Conservation Area. This document was adopted on 27 April 2011.

The Appraisal sets out the Council’s definition of the special interest of the Ryde Conservation Area. It will be used as a basis for planning decisions, appeal statements and conservation advice.
