The conservation area was designated on 10 June 1994 and was re-evaluated and amended on 02 November 1998, and again on 13 April 2006.

Conservation Area Character Appraisal

The Isle of Wight Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for the Ventnor Conservation Area. This document was adopted on 13 April 2006.

The Appraisal sets out the Council’s definition of the special interest of the Ventnor Conservation Area. It will be used as a basis for planning decisions, appeal statements and conservation advice.
