The conservation area was designated on 15 December 1969 and was re-evaluated and amended on 23 December 2009.

Conservation Area Character Appraisal

The Isle of Wight Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for the Brighstone Conservation Area. This document was adopted on 23 December 2009.

The Appraisal sets out the Council’s definition of the special interest of the Brighstone Conservation Area. It will be used as a basis for planning decisions, appeal statements and conservation advice.
