Information for Electors

Registered Electors will receive a Poll Card for the General Election up to two weeks before the election is due to take place. Whilst the Poll Card gives information on how to vote or how to apply for a Postal Vote, given the short timetable of this election it is likely that Poll Cards will be delivered after the Postal Vote application deadline has passed.

Poll Cards for the Parish and Town Council elections will only be issued if the relevant Council choose to have them issued.

The Poll Card will give details of the electors Polling Station, and there is a possibility that your Polling Station may have changed, so please check your Poll Card carefully.

Electors who already have a Postal Vote will also receive a Postal Poll Card, which will give details of their Postal Vote, including the address to which the Postal Vote will be sent.

If you are not currently Registered as an Elector, then the last date on which you can apply for Registration to vote in the General Election is the eleventh working day before the day of the Poll. (For elections held on 6th May, this deadline is Tuesday 20th April 2010).

The lists of Candidates for the General Election and the Town & Parish Elections will be posted under the “Parliamentary Election” and “Parish & Town Council Election” links to the left of the screen in due course, along with other Official Notices once they are published.
