Observation of Behaviour – Practice and Resources (2nd session of 3)

Target Group:

Any staff working directly with children/young people wishing to develop their skills in identifying causes of unwanted behaviour and apply appropriate & effective strategies.

Teaching staff; support staff; behaviour support workers; MSAs; volunteers.



Course Aims:

  • To identify how to analyse behaviour in order to develop effective management strategies.

 

  • To analyse the goals of behaviour & the impact on children & young people’s learning


Intended Impact:

  • To support schools’ staff in understanding the role of observation in understanding and managing behaviour
  • To improve confidence in the identification of the causes of behaviours
  • To support the professional development of schools’ staff in implementing observations to support assessment of pupils BESD needs.
