How to deal with SEAL – for schools staff

Target Group:
Any staff working with children/young people during unstructured times i.e. playtime/lunch times, wishing to develop their understanding of children/young people’s behaviour

Course Aims:

  • To consider the impact on adults of teaching social, emotional and behavioural skills
  • To provide an understanding of Emotional Intelligence in children & young people’s development and learning.
  • To explore the efficacy & benefits of SEAL programmes for children’s learning and development.


Intended Impact:

  • To support schools staff in considering the impact of our individual emotional status when working with children/young people
  • To provide support for staff on the teaching of potentially sensitive & controversial issues
  • To improve staff confidence in skills to deliver effective and developing SEAL activities


Prerequisites:

Resources Required

To identify SEAL resources in school prior to coming to workshop.
