Peer Mentoring – Observing Practice in the EYFS

Target Group:
Early Years Managers and supervisors with a responsibility for the line management of staff

Course Aims:

  • To provide a model that will enable managers/senior staff to observe, identify and feedback on the elements of quality EYFS practice within their setting
  • To have a clear and consistent view about what the different elements of effective practice look like during a child initiated and adult led session
  • To ensure that the activities planned, support the children to learn with enjoyment and challenge
  • For practitioners to be able to reflect on their EYFS practice in order to identify areas for development


Intended Impact:

  • Improve outcomes for children through improved and quality practice
  • To use the model as part of a peer mentoring programme
