Working at Height

Target Group:
This course is designed for anyone who needs to use or manage ladders and other access equipment.

Course Aims:

COURSE CONTENT

  • What is working at height?
  • Working at Height Regulations 2005 and Provision and Use of Work
  • Equipment Regulations
  • Working at height: hazards and risks; safe working practices
  • Access equipment: reducing risks when using ladders; hazards associated with ladders; safe working methods; inspection and checklist
  • Why do people fall?: some reasons why people fall
  • Selection and inspection of ladders and stepladders
  • Safer ways to work at height


Intended Impact:
It is intended to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify the risks associated with work at height, manage the risks safely and know how to select and use the most appropriate equipment. It will also enable people to know how to use ladders safely.
