Safeguarding Children and Young People Basic Awareness Training for All Professionals Group 2

Target Group:
Those in a professional or voluntary role, who have regular contact or have a period of intense but irregular contact with children, young people and parents/carers, who may be in a position to identify concerns about maltreatment.

Course Aims:

Develop awareness of what to do if you have concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people in the context of National, local and your organisations policy's and procedures.

Outcomes:

• Identify personal and cultural value and their impact on decision making
• Identify and understand the categories of Abuse in relation to the children and young people you work with.
• Identify the key safeguarding legal framework and guidance and its importance to your practice.
• Understand what to do if you have concerns about the welfare of children, including those who are suffering or at risk of suffering “significant harm” or the behavior of adults who work with children.
• Identify issues that can impact on children, young people and adult rising concerns.
