Step into my Shoes - a look through the eyes of children who speak English as an additional language

Target Group:
Practitioners working within the EYFS this includes Reception class teachers and Day care providers

Course Aims:

  • To develop awareness and understanding of the difficulties that EAL children may face in our setting socially,emotionally and linguistically.
  • To learn and discuss strategies to support EAL children
  • To gain confidence in advising parents on bringing up a child bilingually.
  • To explore resources which can be used to aid the EAL child as well as providing opportunities for all children to experience other cultures.


Intended Impact:
Practitioners will feel more confident and equipped to welcome, support and include EAL children in their setting
