Observation, Assessment and Planning for Early Years

Target Group:
Practitioners from Early Years settings

Course Aims:

To raise practitioner knowledge of, and confidence/ability in, observing and planning effectively to support children’s development and learning.

 

Objectives/Learning Outcome

  • To reflect on current practice concerning the observation, assessment, planning cycle
  • To strengthen practitioners’ understanding of the value of observation as a planning and assessment tool
  • To explore a range of formats to support the planning cycle


Intended Impact:

  • All children will experience provision that is planned to meet their individual interests and needs.
  • Practitioners will be confident in their ability to plan in line with EYFS


Prerequisites:
Please bring a copy of Development Matters in the EYFS (revised)
