Leading Procurement in Schools

Target Group:
Headteachers, School Governors, Members of the School Leadership Team, School Business Managers, and Finance Managers.

Course Aims:

The aims of the workshop are to:

  • Raise awareness of the national importance attached to school procurement in contributing to the achievement of value for money and procuring more for less expenditure;
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the procurement cycle and of the legislative frameworks that apply to school procurement activities;
  • Develop the skills necessary for drawing up accurate specifications and tenders for goods and services;
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the benefits of e-procurement and of sustainable procurement policies and practices;
  • Develop skills in contract management and negotiation.


Prerequisites:
Participants are asked to complete a questionnaire prior to the workshop and bring the completed questionnaire with them, as attached ‘Procurement Questionnaire’.

Notes:
Lunch will be provided.
