Attachment in Early Years – a secure foundation for life

Target Group:
Early Years practitioners – particularly those working with babies

Course Aims:

  • To understand how secure attachment develops in the early years and why this benefits children later in life.
  • To recognise patterns of insecure attachment and how this may affect behaviour in schools and nuseries.
  • To understand some practical implications of attachment theory for managing the care and education of young children.


Intended Impact:
To enable Early Years practitioners to meet the emotional needs of young children more effectively in order to reduce the incidence of challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties later in life.

Prerequisites:
Optional reading list will be provided

Notes:
Lunch will be provided
