Members of the Isle of Wight Council's Web Team collecting their Hantsweb Award in 2007Hundreds of websites from across the South were nomiated for this years awards by members of the public back in October last year, with judges successfully managing to whittle this down to 120 shortlisted websites (10 from each of the above categories) at the end of November. Of these 120, Island-based entries included Island Pulse, I Love Ryde, Matt & Cat's IOW Eating Out Guide, The Real Island Food Company, Age Concern Isle of Wight, The Ellen MacArthur Trust and Isle of Wight Council's very own www.iwight.com.

Each of the websites have now been assessed by a team of judges with expertise and experience in their chosen field. Overall they look for good practice, accessibility, ease of use, relevance, and of course, great design.
