Cowes Primary School

Implementation of the move to a two tier education system continues with 1300 pupils staying in their current primary school, instead of going to middle school.

Niton, Wootton, Gurnard and Cowes all received new furnished temporary teaching facilities for the new school year. Newport CE, Godshill, Haylands, St Mary’s and St Helen’s primary schools have had temporary teaching facilities installed over the summer holidays.

All primary schools that form part of the new two tier system also identified any resources they need for the new school year, such as text books and desks. Primary schools that required additional resources that could not be sourced locally were given a bigger budget to purchase items, meaning all schools now have sufficient resources.
