Get Active

Go Active

The IOW Council Sports Unit encourages and promotes sports and activities in a whole variety of ways. It also organises activity as part of wider projects, below you will find links to some of the activities which are currently organised or supported by the Sports Unit.

Medina IOW Parkrun

Medina IOW Parkrun is a venture being co-ordinated by the Isle of Wight Council and funded jointly by Sport England and the Health Authority to help raise adult and children physical activity levels. Parkrun organises free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. To register for the Medina IOW Parkrun click here

Medina IOW Parkrun relies on the generosity of its volunteers who turn up every week and give their time to make this event a weekly success. if you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact us on [email protected]

Return to sport

The Return to Sport project aims at getting more adults regularly participating in sport and physical activity. Return to Sport courses are aimed at encouraging adults back into sport or encouraging adults into a sport that they have never played before.

On this page you will find information of all our up and coming courses, Click here to view our current courses. Courses are run throughout the year so check back regularly for an update.

Come and Play sessions
