Schools' service level agreement and early years' subscription

Many of you have purchased all or part of the schools' service level agreement. For those of you who haven’t and would like further details of the benefits available to subscribers, please use the 'Send a Message' tab to contact us at any time throughout the year.

Day care providers and Childminders who have not yet subscribed to the Early Years' programme can do so at any point throughout the year, please use the 'Send a Message' tab to contact us. 

Standards of service

The service holds the Matrix Quality Standard for the provision of information, advice and guidance for learning and work. The standard recognises organisations who work within the following quality assurance standards:

  • Effective forward planning, goal setting, progress measures and use of resources.
  • Meeting clients’ needs and ensuring consistency through the employment of competent and appropriately qualified staff, efficient and prompt administrative procedures and high standards of facilities and accommodation.
  • Improving retention, achievement and progression rates on courses.
  • Evaluating performance and identifying ways to continually improve and develop programmes through representative groups such as development governor forum, CPD leaders’ meetings and observations of training programmes.

 The Learning and Development Service is working towards the National Occupational Standards for Commissioning and is a registered City & Guilds centre (skills for life & professional qualifications).

 We also hold the Investors In Quality Licence in order to accredit learning opportunities.

Training records

All individuals who have attended training on our programme may request a copy of their training history.  Schools are able to request data on whole school training if required.  All requests for training history and records should be sent via the 'Send a Message' tab. 

Newly-qualified teacher's induction training programme

No further charge for fully subscribing schools.

Non-subscribing schools will be charged £110 per twilight session and £220 per day session.

How to apply

If you would like to attend any course detailed in the Learning & Development Programme you can:

  • Complete the application form and email it to: [email protected]  or return it to the address listed on the 'Contact Information' tab (please ensure you have authorisation to attend from your line manager).

IW Council employees can book via the Employee Self Service portal (SAP)

Please book early as places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Course fees

Where a course fee is applicable, an invoice will be sent to the billing address given on the application form.

Cancellation and non-attendance policy

Fully subscribing schools and early years' settings will be charged a £50 administration fee for non-attendance at an event.

Non-subscribing schools and early years' settings will be charged the full cost of the place, as advertised, for non-attendance.

Places cancelled up to TWO weeks before the start date of the event will incur no charge.

Places cancelled within TWO weeks of the start date of the event will be charged a £50 administration fee.
