Housing Options and Advice

Housing Services offers free and impartial housing advice to anyone who requires it, regardless of their tenure or status, or whether they occupy accommodation or provide it.

Whether you own your home and are having difficulties with your mortgage or are renting and need advice on your rights and options, we aim to help.

Housing Option Advisors are available during office hours to discuss your situation in detail and offer personalised advice.

No appointment is necessary, just drop into our office at 7 High Street, Newport or call (01983) 823040 and we’ll call you back.

If you need more specialised legal or debt advice, we can make a referral to another service who can offer more detailed help and assistance.

If your case needs more detailed housing advice and assistance from the Council, we can refer your case to one of our Homeless Prevention Officers who will work with you to resolve your housing problem.

So if you have a housing issue, no matter how big or small, please contact us as soon as you can for some advice. Early intervention gives us more time to be able to help resolve your housing problem.
