Ferry Travel

If you are planning to travel across to the Island for the Isle of Wight Festival it is essential that you have purchased your festival ticket in advance and have your wristband with you upon arrival at the Festival.

Please make sure that you book your ferry crossing as soon as possible by contacting your desired ferry operator via our quick links below.

Hovertravel

Hovertravel Header

Hovertravel run services between Ryde Esplanade and Southsea in under 10 minutes. They have a frequent service running 7 days a week.


Red Funnel Services

Red Funnel Header

Red Funnel runs services over 2 routes to and from the Island.

  • Red Jet Hi-Speed: (Southampton to West Cowes (passenger only). Runs every 30 minutes throughout the day, journey time approx 23 minutes.
  • Passenger/Vehicle Ferry: (Southampton to East Cowes). Operates 24 hours a day, journey time approx one hour.

Both services connect to a free bus service from Southampton Central Rail Station.



Wightlink Services

Wightlink Header

Wightlink runs services over three routes to and from the Island.

  • Portsmouth to Ryde Pier Head (Fast Cat Passenger Service). Journey time approx 22 minutes.
  • Portsmouth to Fishbourne (Car and Passenger Service). Journey time approx 40 minutes.
  • Lymington to Yarmouth (Car and Passenger Service). Journey time approx 30 minutes.

Ferry and general travel information for East Cowes, Cowes, Fishbourne and Yarmouth areas

Additional parking restrictions and traffic measures will be in operation in the East Cowes area in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and delays, especially on Monday 25th June.

People travelling on the Southampton, Portsmouth and Lymington vehicle ferries are asked to arrive at the Isle of Wight ferry terminals no more than 30 minutes before their booked time. People who have no ferry booking should not try to cross to the mainland from early morning until late evening on Monday 25th June as all ferries are fully booked.
