The Isle of Wight Council is honoured that the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) has chosen the Isle of Wight to be part of the Olympic Torch route, which is a once in a lifetime occasion.
The torch will arrive in Yarmouth on board a Wightlink ferry at 12.44pm on July 14 and then visit Totland, The Needles Park, Gunville, Carisbrooke, Newport and East Cowes before returning to the mainland via a Red Funnel ferry after 4pm to continue its 70-day UK tour.
The flame will be carried by dozens of people while it is on the Isle of Wight.
