‘SUPERMARKET SWEEP’ for Year 6 pupils

The Isle of Wight Trading Standards Service has its very own version of ‘Supermarket Sweep’. The shelves are fully stocked with various items which have an age restriction including alcohol, tobacco products, fireworks, DVDs and solvents.

Groups of year six middle school children are asked to go shopping and bring back the following:

  • ➢ 3 items that they could buy at the age they are now
  • ➢ 3 items that they will be able to buy at the age of 16
  • ➢ 3 items that they will be able to buy at the age of 18

The choices are then discussed and the health aspects explored.

Photographs of previous ‘Supermarket Sweep’ presentations will be uploaded soon.
