Question: How do I resolve a boundary dispute?

Answer: The Planning Department cannot assist with boundary disputes. However, to find out if your boundary is wrongly located or who is responsible for the upkeep of a fence, wall or hedge it is advisable to consult your deeds which are usually held by your mortgage lender or solicitor. You may also need to engage the services of a Chartered Land Surveyor. to find out who owns a piece of land try the District land registry who can be contacted by email: www.landreg.gov.uk Phone: 02392 768888
