Council Tax Benefit Consultation

Your FAQ

Question: What should I do if I cannot pay the amount shown on my Council Tax bill?

Answer: You should contact the council tax team on (01983) 823901 as soon as possible, so that you can discuss this with them. If you do not let them know that you are having difficulty in making the payments, they may take recovery action which may incur additional costs. It may also be advisable to contact the Consumer Credit Counselling Service on the IW free phone number of 0800 0546731 for free anonymous debt advice. Alternatively there are a number of welfare agencies providing debt advice on the Island.
