Question: Will there be a scheme similiar to the Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) fund available if I am unable to afford the amount I now have to pay?

Answer: The government has announced that the existing DHP Scheme will only be available in respect of housing benefit from 1 Apr 2013. There will be no provision for a discretionary payment fund for local council tax support.
