Isle of Wight Council’s waste team offers a variety of educational experiences for children of all ages through schools, or other community groups. Sessions are organised to suit the available time and number of children and can vary in focus depending on your requirements.

Why do waste education?

  • We only have about 15 years life left in our landfill.
  • Each year, the average British family throws away six trees worth of paper.
  • Each year every person in the UK throws away as much rubbish as the weight of 5 baby elephants.

We need to make reducing, reusing and recycling an integral part of day to day life.

Where better to start than with children at school?
