Brownie Guide Wooden Toadstool1st Arreton Brownie PackCirca 1930s
Used for Brownie Ring.
Girls would sit, dance and sing around it. Sometimes, if the top was flat,
the subs money would be placed upon it.
At their enrolment Brownies often placed one hand on the toadstool
whilst making a salute with the other hand. The toadstool comes from
"Brownie Story" which every new Brownie had to read before enrolment.
The toadstool is still used by some units.
