St Helens Beach can be accessed either by foot or car. Public transport is available to the Village Green leaving the visitor with a 15 to 20 minute walk. St Helens is a haven for peace and tranquility. The beach is excellent for swimming with sand dunes at the rear of the promenade. Birds and wildlife abound in the area and the view of Bembridge Harbour is breathtaking..

During the summer season St Helens beach is litter picked on a daily basis and large amounts of seaweed are removed and taken to local farmers for use as compost. Safety is of the utmost importance and emergency equipment such as Lifebelts are strategically located along the Esplanade in order to ensure safety at any time of the year. St Helens is adequately served by Baywatch on the Beach which is a licensed facility that caters for all visitors to the beach.
St Helens is successful for displaying its Water Quality Award.
Like anywhere, St Helens has its natural hazards, so be sure to take notice of the safety signs and also read the safety guidelines and have a good time. Information is provided at each area so check this out.
