Emptying of dog bins

SC-Dogbinsandfouling200
Approximately 280 dog bins located in residential areas, parks, gardens and on Esplanades are emptied as part of the Street Cleansing Contract undertaken by Island Waste Services under contract to the Isle of Wight Council. They are emptied twice a week in the winter and three times a week in the summer. In addition, some Parish and Town Councils and Community Forums have arranged for additional bins to be provided in their area. They make their own arrangements for emptying.

The dog bins are disinfected monthly.

Dog Fouling
Dog fouling on pavements and roads will be removed as part of a routine cleanse or litter pick of a street. If an area is particularly badly fouled, we may be able to arrange the Rapid Response Unit to remove the fouling. Areas of persistent fouling should be reported to the Dog Warden.
