Residents Survey Results

Each year the council undertakes a comprehensive survey to see how residents feel about the Island, the council and the services it provides.

The results of the 2009 residents’ survey, that involved 1,106 telephone interviews conducted by an independent research company at the end of last year, can be viewed in full via the link below.

Among the headline findings were that an overwhelming 98 per cent of residents said the Island was a good place to live. This is believed to be one of the highest such endorsements of any UK area as a place to live. In addition, over 91 per cent said the Island was a good place to take a holiday. There were also some very high approval ratings for services including pre-schools, refuse collections, community recycling bins, doorstep recycling beaches, parks and open spaces and museums, theatre and arts.

A press release is available on iwight.com while the survey is also featured in the current edition of One Island magazine.
