The Heritage Education Service

Visit the Heritage Education Service website

The Heritage Education Service (HES) is based at Carisbrooke Castle Museum, a local history museum which is administered as a charitable trust.

By providing information and supplying useful classroom materials and resources, the aim of this service is to support educational visits to Carisbrooke Castle Museum and the castle itself, as well as to Newport Roman Villa, Cowes Maritime Museum and the Guildhall Museum of Island History.

If you are an Island-based school, you can use the contact information on this website to find out more about the service or make a booking. Mainland schools should apply directly to English Heritage using the contact details provided.

The HES is funded by the Isle of Wight Council and is part of the Isle of Wight Heritage Service, in partnership with the Trustees of Carisbrooke Castle Museum.

The remaining core of this website focuses on Carisbrooke Castle Museum and includes information about its displays and collections, latest museum news and an interactive explorer tour which transports you around the Castle and museum from the comfort of your PC.
