Sandcastle Competition at Compton Bay 10.30am

Will yours be the last castle standing or the best sand sculpture? The last castles standing will be the ones that survive the 1pm high tide and if any are left, will be judged at 1.30pm.

National Trust Wildzone: Mottistone Bat Zap 7pm for a 7.15pm start until 9.15pm

Listen to a talk then try bat detectors in the dark with the National Trust and Isle of Wight Bat Hospital. Bring a torch. Some slight slopes on gravel and grass. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Sorry, no dogs. Booking essential.

Rockpool Rummage 10am to 12 noon

Explore the rocky shore of Bembridge Ledges with Wildlife Trust staff. Discover more about rockpools and the amazing wildlife they support. Part of Marine Week – a national event to draw attention to marine issues and highlight our important Living Seas. Bring sun hat, sun screen and drinking water, plus a net if you have one. Old shoes, sandals or wellies will protect your feet but they will get wet! All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Maximum of three children per adult. Sorry, no dogs.

Enjoy the contrasts and superb views on this historically-interesting circular route along the rugged coastal path and up and down Week Down via tiny St Lawrence church. Some strenuous climbing.

National Trust Wildzone: Mottistone Moth Night From 7.30pm

In the evening we will be setting a light trap and looking for moths around the garden. Then we’ll return the following day at 8.30am to see what has been caught in the light trap and to discover what amazing moths inhabit the night skies of Mottistone. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Sorry, no dogs. Booking essential.
