Accounts

The Statement of Accounts is a statutory document published each year showing the financial performance of the council and details of its finances.

The accounts are prepared in accordance with the Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting and are audited each year by an external auditor.

From these pages you will be able to view the council’s Statement of Accounts for a number of years

They include the Isle of Wight Council Pension Fund accounts and the Firefighters’ Pension Fund accounts. Annual reports for both pension funds can be found on the Pension Fund web page. These records will be updated each year as new information becomes available.

In addition to the full statement of accounts produced by the council, we also produce a summary statement of accounts as part of our annual report. This is usually published in the council’s autumn edition of the 'One Island' magazine, which can also be viewed on this website.

The Annual Governance Statement which is required to accompany the Statement of Accounts can be viewed in the Audit and Governance tab of this webpage.

This page also contains a link to a document which has been produced to explain the legal position regarding the right of members of the public to inspect the accounting records and documents of the council.

Access to other information including details of financial transactions over £500 can be found on the council's transparency web page.
