School Transport


Service Description: Procurement and provision of free home to school transport services for eligible students. Issue of term tickets and publication of a Code of Good Practice for travel to school.

Your FAQ

Question: My child is thinking of staying on in the sixth form at a secondary school or going to the Isle of Wight College; can they get help with their travel costs?

Answer: Yes, a subsidised travel pass is available for students who live more than three miles from the school/college that they are attending. Students who qualify will pay £50.00 a term towards their travel costs. Forms are available from the School Admissions Office on 01983 823455. You can also download a form at www.iwight.com, online services then follow the links provided.

If you are on low income financial support to assist with the purchase of a termly bus pass may be available from the 16-19 Bursary Fund. Any enquiries or requests for such assistance should be made to the appropriate school / college / training provider that your child will be continuing their education / training with - all of whom have a policy setting out what criteria they use to establish eligibility. - Related Link
