High Hedges

Service Description: Advice regarding the High Hedges Bill, forms for complaint against a neighbour's high hedge, leaflets regarding high hedges.

Your FAQ

Question: If I put in a complaint will the neighbour have to reduce their hedge?

Answer: Not necessarily. The Council will notify the neighbour of your complaint and ask for their comments. An officer will visit to see the hedge for themselves, take measurements and then weigh up the evidence. They will decide whether the hedge adversely affects the reasonable enjoyment of your house and garden and what, if anything, should be done about it.
