Your FAQ

Question: Is there free home to school transport available for children attending Secondary School?

Answer: From Sept 2013 if your child is attending their priority area secondary school and you live more than 3 miles from this you will be entitled to home to school transport. If you choose to attend a secondary school that is not your priority area school and this is more than 3 miles from your priority area school, you will not be entitled to home to school transport.

If your home is more than 2 miles but less than 6 miles from the school your child attends AND your child is receiving free school meals or you are in receipt of the maximum level of working tax credit (it will say on the WTC letter; WTC is not reduced due to income) - you may be entitled to Home to School Transport.

To apply for home to school transport please contact school admissions or email [email protected] including your name and address for a form. Or you can collect one from Newport Help Centre, County Hall.
