Service Description: The Service provides educational advice and support for sensory impaired children and their families and ongoing professional development and training for staff. The Service also provides specialist equipment to facilitate effective communication and links with other relevant agencies.

Answer: Various support groups are available to parents including:
The National Deaf Children’s Society, Royal National Institute for Deaf People, British Deaf Association, Hampshire and IOW Deaf Association, Isle of Wight Deaf Children’s Association (tel 611881) and Saturday Club for the Deaf (tel/fax 760180).
