Swimming


Service Description: Swimming is an excellent form of exercise, a great way of keeping in shape and is available to everybody. Cultural and Leisure Services operate and run three swimming pools on the Island that are open seven days a week, being Medina at Newport and the Heights in Sandown. Waterside Pool is now managed by the Waterside Community Trust, they can be contacted on 01983 563656.

Your FAQ

Question: What does my child have to do to get a free swimming card?

Answer: Free swimming is available to any child up to 15 years old who is resident on the Isle of Wight and has a Junior Residents Registration One Card.

The card is free and available from Medina Leisure Centre and the Heights. Parent or guardian signature is required.

If your child already has a card through previous free swimming initiatives, they can just bring along the card to one of the above pools and start swimming.
