School Based Work Experience


Service Description: The aim of work experience is to give students an insight into the world of work. The student should experience a variety of activities during their placement and begin to understand the role of an employee and how companies and institutions function. The scheme is administered jointly by school staff and officers of the Isle of Wight Council.

Question: Will my child get paid a wage whilst participating in work experience?

Answer: No, the hours worked will normally be hours worked by young employees of the organisation concerned. A major difference between school and work is the length of the working day and week. - Related Link
