I.O.W Coastal Visitor Centre

Service Description: The Isle of Wight Coastal Visitors Centre opened in August 1998 in order to provide an accessible point of contact for anyone with an interest in the Island's coastline. The Visitors Centre comprises 10 themed rooms each examining a different aspect of the Island's coastline and its management. These range from the geology and scenery to the plant and animal life that inhabit the varied coastline as well as the marine and inter-tidal archaeology. The Visitors Centre is able to offer an extensive education programme relating to the coastline, habitats and geohazards.

Your FAQ

Question: Is the Centre wheelchair accessible?

Answer: Although we are working to make the Centre more fully accessible, currently only the lower floor is accessible to wheelchairs. The upper floor can only be accessed by those who are mobility impaired by six steps at the rear of the building. A wheelchair accessible toilet is available on the lower floor. - Related Link
