Service Description: The provision of on-street disabled parking bays. Applications for disabled bays can be submitted to the Network Management and Improvement section of the Highways Department. However, due to a large backlog of applications, limited resources and budget restrictions, there is a lengthy waiting list and it is not possible to give timescales as to when a bay will be painted. Alternatively, you can pay to have a disabled bay, although the timescale from receiving the application to the painting of the bay is currently around 2-3 months.

Answer: To qualify for a disabled bay outside your house you must have the following: - A current blue badge. - A vehicle registered to the address of the blue badge holder. - No off-street parking faclilites, for example a driveway or garage etc. Please note a bay will not be issued if required for regular visitors such as carers, relatives etc. To apply please contact Highways Call Centre on 821000.
