Service Description: The Isle of Wight Music Service has, in one form or another, been providing instrumental tuition to LEA schools on the Island for more than half a century. Answer: Through the IW Music Service Musical Instrument Assisted Purchase Scheme, pupils receiving tuition at LEA schools are able to purchase instruments free of VAT. To qualify for this scheme pupils must be studying the instrument in school as part of the national curriculum course (music) and use the instrument in school during normal school hours at least once a week. Enquiries/applications, in the first instance, should be made via the instrumental teacher at school.
