If awarded, LCTS is deducted from your Council Tax liability, reducing your bill. To claim LCTS you must be the person liable to pay the council tax bill for a property.

Answer: Anyone who is in receipt of council tax benefit end of March 2013 will automatically be assessed for the new council tax support. It is likely that most working age people who qualify for council tax support will have to pay more council tax than they do now. The person must be liable to pay council tax and be on a low income to qualify for council tax support.
